Ethan Capers began his martial arts training at age six with Frank Dux and took up the study of true Ninpo and Budo Taijutsu in 1996 under Shidoshi Thomas Maienza of the Bujinkan Kage Dojo in Los Angeles, California. After relocating to Minneapolis, he joined Mr. Kenneth Pangburn in study under Sensei Robert Ruby, and then under Shihan Kevin Schneider.

He has since trained with a number of great teachers in the Bujinkan including Noguchi Shihan, Nagato Shihan, Oguri Shihan, Shiraishi Shihan, Luke Molitor Shihan, Larry Turner Shihan, Ed martin Shihan and many others. Ethan continues to deepen his studies by visiting Japan to train with Hatsumi Sensei and others, and regularly attending Seminars given by other Bujinkan Instructors here in the States.

 Ethan received Godan in November of 2004 under Soke Masaaki Hatsumi. He was given  Hachidan (8th Dan) in November of 2008. he also holds instructor level grades in Tae Kwon Do, and Dragon Gate Shin Bop Sool. He is a level 1 certified personal protection specialist with the Alliance Group, and is the Director of operations for Dragonfly Protection Services LLC. he is a contributing editor for Bujin-Kan Magazine online. he has an extensive background in Music and Theater, and is a world class coffee hound.

Ethan married a Tiger named Sara in Japan on November 19, 2004. They make a home for their family in Brooklyn Center MN. with 3 cats: Nobi, the Ninja wonder-cat, Skitty, master of Hide-first-no-Jutsu, and  Kage the Fluffy shadow.
